The project FAIRplus, running from January 2019 to June 2022, has 22 partners from academia and industry and is coordinated by ELIXIR. It will develop tools and guidelines for making life science data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and organize training for data scientists in academia, SMEs and pharmaceutical companies to enable wider adoption of best practices in life science data management.
Leading SIB’s participation in the project is Mark Ibberson, Director of the Vital-IT Group. He is also the co-principal investigator for several pan-European Innovative Medicine Initiative (IMI) projects. “We are excited to bring our know-how in making research data compatible with FAIR principles – as was done in the context the IMIDIA project on diabetes – to this ambitious endeavor,” he says.
