Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine Forum
How does AI move from scientific discovery to clinical practice? This one-day forum brings together experts in biology, medicine and computational science to answer that question, with two SIB Group Leaders chairing the sessions.
Laura Azzimonti (SIB Machine Learning for Bioinformatics and Personalized Medicine group, IDSIA USI-SUPSI) and Andrea Cavalli (SIB Computational Structural Biology group, IRB) lead discussions on:
- Digital twins and personalized medicine: computational models that combine clinical and biological data to simulate disease progression and treatment response in individual patients.
- Protein and compound design: AI that moves from predicting the properties of known molecules to designing new proteins, antibodies and small-molecule drugs.
Organized by the IBSA Foundation with IDSIA USI-SUPSI, the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR), the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) and SUPSI. Free and open to the public. Talks in English.
Researchers can submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation until 19 October 2026.
