About
Why this symposium?
Enteroviruses are an increasingly important yet underrepresented global health challenge, with evolving genotypes (including EV-A71 and EV-D68) linked to a rising disease burden. This symposium provides a platform to highlight cutting-edge research, new detection technologies, and clinical insights.
The symposium is intended for researchers, clinicians, epidemiologists, bioinformaticians, public health professionals, and students interested in enteroviruses, viral surveillance, and outbreak response.

Format
- Keynotes, contributed talks, and poster sessions
- Interactive workshops (Nextclade, Pathoplexus)
- Structured discussion forum and networking
- In-person only to maximize collaboration
Submitted abstracts will be considered for contributed talks or poster presentations.

Registration includes:
- 3 nights accommodation (5–8 October 2026)
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee breaks, and welcome apéro
- Access to all scientific sessions, poster sessions, and networking activities
- Conference materials
Participation in the optional Thursday morning workshop sessions can be selected separately during registration to help us plan capacity. Workshop participation is free of charge but requires prior registration.
Travel to Disentis is not included.
Arrival & Departure
- Monday, 5 October 2026: Check-in and registration open from 16:00
- Monday evening: Opening keynote and welcome dinner
- Wednesday, 7 October 2026: Main symposium program concludes with the closing dinner
- Thursday, 8 October 2026: Optional workshops take place in the morning, followed by lunch and departure

Most participants will stay at Hotel Kloster Disentis, where accommodation, meals, talks, and poster sessions all take place in one location.

Additional Information
- Students and postdocs may indicate preferred roommates in the registration form.
- Shared rooms will be assigned with consideration of participant comfort and gender preferences. Participants identifying as non-binary are welcome to indicate any preferences or constraints.
- A small number of rooms may be located in nearby buildings (1–2 min walk away).

Travel Grants
We offer 20 travel grants for students with limited financial resources.
Travel grant applications must be submitted before completing conference registration. Successful applicants will receive a discount code to use during registration.

Reduced Fee for Postdocs
A limited number of reduced-rate registrations are available for postdocs willing to:
- share a room (maximum 1 other person), or
- stay in a single room with shared floor bathrooms (limited availability)
Eligible participants should indicate interest in the registration form using code SHARE2. Allocation is first-come, first-served.
Payment Information
After submitting the registration form, participants will receive a confirmation email confirming receipt of their application. Registrations will then be reviewed by the organizing committee, after which approved participants will receive payment instructions.
Approved participants will receive a secure payment link for credit/debit card payment.
If you require payment by invoice or bank transfer, please contact the organizing committee in advance.
Discount codes for travel grants or reduced accommodation options will be applied before payment and are not deducted automatically during registration.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations before 01 August 2026 are eligible for a partial refund. Due to accommodation and catering commitments, refunds after this date may no longer be possible.

Accessibility
Most main conference areas are accessible. As this is a historic building, some areas may include stairs or uneven floors.
