This course is co-organised by the CUSO/StarOmics doctoral program. Priority is given to its members, but is open to everyone.
Overview
Several research groups are dealing with very sensitive human data, and learning how to properly manage them, from acquisition to storage and sharing, has become urgent.
This course will introduce the general steps needed to avoid public leaks of sensitive data, protecting by the same time your reputation and that of your institution. The course will cover best practices for the management of sensitive human data, from the technical aspects of how the data should be stored and shared, to practical guidelines of how to manage such data in an an analysis setting.
Audience
Any scientist dealing with sensitive data at any stage of the data life cycle would be encouraged to follow this best practises training.
Learning objectives
At the end of the course participants should:
- Be aware of risks involved with handling sensitive data
- Know how to minimize these risks by applying best practices

No registration fees for members of staromics, otherwise they are 50 CHF for academics. This includes course content material, and coffee breaks. Participants from non-academic institutions should contact us before application.
