Welcome to [BC]2

Switzerland's key computational biology event

9 - 12 September 2019, Basel, Switzerland

[BC]2 @ Basel Life - Bringing bioinformatics closer to the lab

[BC]2 is one of the major bioinformatics and computational biology events in Europe. Initiated in 2003, it is since 2008 the annual scientific meeting of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics uniting scientists across a broad range of disciplines, including computational, evolutionary, structural and systems biology. In 2019, [BC]2 is organised in the context of Basel Life - Europe’s leading congress in the Life Sciences - to foster the scientific exchange between experimental and computational disciplines! Thanks to this integration, [BC]2 attendants will thus not only have access to [BC]2, but to all of Basel Life’s activities including the EMBO conference and Innovation Forums.

Be part of this venture and join us in Basel!

This year’s scientific programme will focus on the use of “Big Data in Molecular Medicine” with plenary sessions on single-cell biology, evolutionary medicine, clinical population genomics, systems biology of disease and multi-level data integration. As in previous years, [BC]2 is preceded by a set of tutorials and workshops.
  • 09.09: Workshops and tutorials
  • 10.09: Main [BC]2 conference
  • 11.09: Main [BC]2 conference

SIB Bioinformatics Awards - extended application deadline!

To promote excellence and innovation in the field of bioinformatics, SIB created the international SIB Bioinformatics Awards ten years ago to acknowledge early career bioinformaticians and ground-breaking resources of national and international standing. All Awards carry a cash prize and winners will be invited to give a plenary talk during the [BC]2 conference. The application deadline has now been extended to 14 April 2019, 23:59 CET.

Sponsoring

[BC]2 is a non-profit scientific event. If you would like to support the conference or if you can help us reach out to interested companies, please contact us at bc2@sib.swiss.

By being exposed to about 2'500 participants from the national and international life science community, sponsors will profit from a great visibility throughout the full Basel Life congress!
