SIB co-founder Amos Bairoch distinguished for his outstanding contribution to biomolecular technologies

Amos Bairoch, co-founder of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and Group Leader of the CALIPHO group, is the 2018 awardee for Outstanding Contributions to Biomolecular Technologies of the prestigious Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF).

“This award honors Prof. Bairoch for his outstanding career and his leadership in this metadata revolution. Particularly for the development of community resources such as UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot knowledgebase, PROSITE, ENZYME, and neXtProt.”

The award will be presented at the 2018 ABRF Annual Meeting, which will take place in South Carolina (USA) on 22-25 April.

The Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities is an international society dedicated to advancing core and research biotechnology laboratories through research, technology, communication, and education.
