Through eleven core facilities and high-performance computing (HPC) centres, SIB groups provide expert data analysis services and computing power to life scientists in academia and industry, thus enabling them to perform world-class biomedical research. The Vital-IT group provides computational infrastructure, development support and bioinformatics expertise to the life science community. SIB also co-manages the Center for Scientific Computing (sciCORE) and the Bioinformatics Core Facility (BCF), and collaborates with the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Core Facility (BBCF), the Bioinformatics Unravelling Group (BUGFri), the FGCZ Genome Informatics (FGCZ-GI), FMI Computational Biology Group (FMICBG), the Interfaculty Bioinformatics Unit (IBU), the NEXUS Personalized Health Technologies, the Service and Support for Science IT (S3IT) facility and the Scientific Information Services (SIS).
