As technology develops, the quantity and complexity of data generated by researchers and clinicians grows and needs not only to be stored but also to be processed and analysed. Life scientists need the help of bioinformaticians to do this.
Consequently, academic institutions and research centres are gradually developing infrastructures that provide computational facilities for their researchers and develop custom software, besides providing a link with industry and offering training.
